Lost Children

Since I started working at summer camps, and elementary schools a few years ago, one of my worst nightmares has been to somehow lose a child. Most days I find myself randomly counting children to make sure they are all there. Well...yesterday for a few minutes, I thought this had actually happened at the after school program I work at. Don't worry, no one was actually lost. When this 3rd grader's mom came to pick her up, I realized I did not know where her daughter was. As the mother said as this was happening, "This is not good."

Luckily after  my inward panic attack, and a speedy walk over to the other building to find out if someone else knew where she was, I remembered that I had told this girl that she could help out with the preschoolers! Of course I had already given this girl's mother a heart attack practically, but at least the girl was okay. That's all that really matters right?

So yesterday was a bit more stressful than I would have liked, but what made it better was that I got a $25 gift card to spend at Tjmaxx as a little holiday present. All is good. No lost children! and free money!
